Divine Office and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy

Whew, I have been busy lately. I am trying to squeeze in pleasurable things like reading Anna Karenina, which will be an accomplishment in and of itself when I do finish it. On the Kindle it is almost 14,000 pages. At the moment I am 23% done and we are just scratching the surface of each of the stories, but I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Products have been selling every day on ebay. Personally I am not a big fan of ebay, but it is one way to reach new clients and let them see just how beautiful some of our items are. Not all of them are on the website, but most are. The majority of the prices are the same on both.

At the moment we do have a special ONLY for those that purchase through ebay on our hematite wrap bracelets. There are 8 of them on there that can be purchased for just $5.00 plus shipping. That is approximately another 30% off our already low prices on this product. The ones on the website are not on sale. It is a special  price just for the ebayers. We also have some cross pendant necklaces, rosary necklaces, and a 7" guardian angel lithograph that are not available on the website. So get your tookis over to our ebay site at  http://www.ebay.com/usr/gloryglorygifts.

I have begun reading the Divine Office each day and it is absolutely beautiful and inspirational. You DO NOT have to be Catholic to read it. It is filled with songs, psalms and Gospel readings and takes about 20-25 minutes to read. It is well worth it though. I found a site that posts the daily Divine Office prayers so if you want to start it yourself the link is: http://divineoffice.org/. It has morning, daily, evening and night time prayers as well. Save it on your bookmarks and be inspired every day.

I have also started the Divine Mercy Novena, which began on Good Friday and continues through Divine Mercy Sunday, which is the first Sunday after Easter (this coming Sunday). Check your church events and see if your parish is hosting a day of reflection and immerse yourself in Jesus' Divine Mercy. Those that attend the readings, venerate His image, say the chaplet, receive Communion and attend Confession are forgiven of ALL of their sins, those they remember and those they do not. It is a beautiful day.

Again, you DO NOT have to be Catholic to immerse yourself in His Divine Mercy. The Chaplet can be said daily, at 3:00 P.M. or at any time of the day. If you are unable to say it at 3, a simple, "Jesus, I trust in You," can be said and the Chaplet at another time of the day. I am including the Chaplet here for your convenience. It is said on a standard, 5-decade rosary, but I do it on a one decade (that is getting a bit worn out from overuse).

Immerse yourself in His love and forgiveness. I highly recommend both the Divine Office and the Chaplet to ALL Christians. After all, we are ALL brothers and sisters in Christ and God hears ALL prayers.

Peace!

His Divine Love

Lord, your rays of divine mercy engulf my soul
I feel your forgiveness and unconditional love
with each pulse of my heart
Lord, if I could, I would wash your feet with my tears
Let them fall as softly as a morning mist on a meadow
tho they be oceans of tears of regret
for not always living my life in your light
Oh Lord, that I could wipe the sweat from your brow
anoint your wounds with a soothing salve
and loosen myself from this world
that I may glorify you and give you thanks and praise
as I should
each and every moment
Without the temptations of this world
how focused and insular my prayers and thoughts would be
Make me worthy, Lord, to be with you for all eternity
I am your humble servant who longs to see your face

For this I pray

Amen

May He fill you with peace and love today. God bless.

Divine Mercy Sunday for our Catholic Friends!

Our Lord told Saint Faustina that anyone who approaches Him with a contrite heart on the Sunday following Easter shall be freed from all sins. This Sunday is referred to as Divine Mercy Sunday. As many of the churches in our area are conducting services at 3:00 P.M., the hour of mercy, we suggest you also check your area for services.

Following is a text that explains a little more about what is required for this Feast Day in order to receive what is known as a plenary indulgence in the Catholic world. This plenary indulgence can be offered for the souls in Purgatory that do not have anyone to pray for them.

Have a blessed day and a peaceful week!

Three conditions for the plenary indulgence
And so the Supreme Pontiff, motivated by an ardent desire to foster in Christians this devotion to Divine Mercy as much as possible in the hope of offering great spiritual fruit to the faithful, in the Audience granted on 13 June 2002, to those Responsible for the Apostolic Penitentiary, granted the following Indulgences:
plenary indulgence, granted under the usual conditions (sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and prayer for the intentions of Supreme Pontiff) to the faithful who, on the Second Sunday of Easter or Divine Mercy Sunday, in any church or chapel, in a spirit that is completely detached from the affection for a sin, even a venial sin, take part in the prayers and devotions held in honour of Divine Mercy, or who, in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament exposed or reserved in the tabernacle, recite the Our Father and the Creed, adding a devout prayer to the merciful Lord Jesus (e.g. Merciful Jesus, I trust in you!");
partial indulgence, granted to the faithful who, at least with a contrite heart, pray to the merciful Lord Jesus a legitimately approved invocation.
For those who cannot go to church or the seriously ill
In addition, sailors working on the vast expanse of the sea; the countless brothers and sisters, whom the disasters of war, political events, local violence and other such causes have been driven out of their homeland; the sick and those who nurse them, and all who for a just cause cannot leave their homes or who carry out an activity for the community which cannot be postponed, may obtain a plenary indulgence on Divine Mercy Sunday, if totally detesting any sin, as has been said before, and with the intention of fulfilling as soon as possible the three usual conditions, will recite the Our Father and the Creed before a devout image of Our Merciful Lord Jesus and, in addition, pray a devout invocation to the Merciful Lord Jesus (e.g. Merciful Jesus, I trust in you).
If it is impossible that people do even this, on the same day they may obtain the Plenary Indulgence if with a spiritual intention they are united with those carrying out the prescribed practice for obtaining the Indulgence in the usual way and offer to the Merciful Lord a prayer and the sufferings of their illness and the difficulties of their lives, with the resolution to accomplish as soon as possible the three conditions prescribed to obtain the plenary indulgence.

Perfection

Perfection

It hit me today like I had run into a brick wall
I had to catch my breath as my prayers became choked in my throat and the realization overwhelmed me
It was as if He declared it to me, clearly. Directly.
He loves me, unconditionally. HE. LOVES. ME.
It doesn’t matter how I look
even if I’ve just woken up and I have bed hair or grew a third eye or second nose on my face overnight
He doesn’t care that I am not draped in silks or extravagant clothing
He would love me if I were wearing a potato sack and was barefoot
He would never let me suffer alone; He would be right beside me every step of the way
When he looks at me I am the only person that He sees
Yes, I am that important to Him
He knows me more intrinsically than I know myself sometimes -
my heartbreaks, my joys and what will come out of my mouth before I say it
even if I don’t realize what I have said
He knows my soul, He knows my heart and He knows that I am not perfect, not yet anyway,
but that doesn’t stop me from trying to be perfect in His eyes every day so that
I, at least, will feel that I deserve this incredible gift of His love
He will never say an unkind word to me or about me
He is my strength when I have nothing else to give
He is my hope when this life seems to be at its darkest
He is the light that guides me every single day so that I do not get lost in the craziness
….and all that I have to do to spend all eternity with Him is to let nothing come between us, to trust in Him and to love Him back with every breath in my body and with every beat of my heart. He, and He alone, deserves nothing less than a perfect and pure love from me.
