Jesus' Divine Mercy

Original oil painting by Ron Gatto, Holy Child Divine Mercy Chapel
If you follow my personal Twitter account or our Facebook page you will know that I have been sharing the Divine Mercy Novena, but what exactly is it and how did it come to be?

St. Maria Faustina Kowalska was a young nun, in the convent of the Congregation of Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Poland during the 1930s. Sr. Faustina had a rudimentary education and because of that she was given tasks in the kitchen and gardens of the convent and was even a porter. She came from a poor family that struggled during WWI, however, her family was rich in faith. Though Sr. Faustina was a gentle, pure, soul with an outwardly calm appearance, she was a deep well of faith and devotion to Our Lord and she was bestowed with many graces until her death in 1938.

If you are a Christian you are already aware of the saving mercy of Christ, but, oftentimes people need to be reminded of His graces. Our Lord and Savior needs to be present in our own lives, every day, so that we can bring others to His mercy but especially those that are in most dire need or dying.
The message of mercy is that God loves us, every one of us, no matter how great our sins. He wants us to recognize that His mercy is greater than our sins. We must call upon Him with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others.

Throughout the years of 1931-1938 Sr. Faustina received extraordinary revelations from and visions of Jesus, hidden stigmata, participation in the Passion of the Lord, the gift of bilocation, the reading of human souls, the gift of prophecy, and the rare gift of mystical engagement and marriage.  Jesus instructed her to write down everything that she saw and was told. She did just that and the writings are known today as the Diary of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, Divine Mercy in My Soul. Jesus gave Sr. Faustina a mission to bring souls to Him and to spread the devotion so that others may bring souls to Him as well. The prayers that he gave her were to deepen not only her faith, but others as well. With regard to the Chaplet, He told her,

"My daughter, write that the greater the misery of a soul, the greater its right to My mercy; [urge] all souls to trust in the unfathomable abyss of My mercy, because I want to save them all. " Jesus Diary 118

“At three o’clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony…I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion.” Jesus (Diary, 1320; also, cf. Diary, 1572)

“Souls who spread the honor of My mercy…at the hour of death I will not be a Judge for them, but the Merciful Savior.” Jesus (Diary, 1075)

“When they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as a just Judge but as a merciful Savior.” Jesus (Diary, 1541)

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is said daily at 3:00 P.M., which is the hour of mercy and can be said often during the day and night and especially for those dying.

1. Make the Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
2. Optional Opening Prayers
You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.
(Repeat three times)
O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You!
3. Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.
4. Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.
5. The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
6. The Eternal Father
Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
7. On the 10 Small Beads of Each Decade
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
8. Repeat for the remaining decades
Saying the "Eternal Father" (6) on the "Our Father" bead and then 10 "For the sake of His sorrowful Passion" (7) on the following "Hail Mary" beads.
9. Conclude with Holy God (Repeat three times)
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
10. Optional Closing Prayer
Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion — inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.

"I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over [its] enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I Myself will defend it as My own glory." Jesus, Diary 48

"Mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to My Mercy."  Diary 300

"My Heart overflows with great mercy for souls, and especially for poor sinners…[I]t is for them that the Blood and Water flowed from My Heart as from a fount overflowing with mercy. For them I dwell in the tabernacle as King of Mercy." (Diary, 367)

"The greater the sinner, the greater the right he has to My mercy. My mercy is confirmed in every work of My hands. He who trusts in My mercy will not perish, for all his affairs are Mine, and his enemies will be shattered at the base of My footstool." Diary 723

"Let all mankind recognize My unfathomable mercy. It is a sign for the end times; after it will come the day of justice." Diary 848

"Souls perish in spite of My bitter Passion. I am giving them the last hope of salvation; that is, the Feast of My Mercy. If they will not adore My mercy, they will perish for all eternity." Diary 965

The Feast Day of Mercy is tomorrow, April 28, 2019. Check your parish, and those around you, for Mass times, Confession and  celebratory gatherings to venerate the image and pray the Chaplet.

"I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which grace flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet." Diary 699

"The Feast of Mercy emerged from my very depths of tenderness. It is my desire that it solemnly be celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the fount of My Mercy." Jesus

"He who refuses to pass through the door of My mercy must pass through the door of My justice." Jesus Diary 1146

"My Heart overflows with great mercy for souls, and especially for poor sinners. If only they could understand that I am the best of Fathers to them and that it is for them that the Blood and Water flowed from My Heart as from a fount overflowing with mercy." Jesus Diary 367

"These rays shield souls from the wrath of My Father. Happy is the one who will dwell in their shelter, for the just hand of God shall not lay hold of him. I desire that the first Sunday after Easter be the Feast of Mercy." Jesus Diary 299

"My daughter, write that the greater the misery of a soul, the greater its right to My mercy; [urge] all souls to trust in the unfathomable abyss of My mercy, because I want to save them all." Jesus Diary 1182

"The greater the sinner, the greater the right he has to My mercy. My mercy is confirmed in every work of My hands. He who trusts in My mercy will not perish, for all his affairs are Mine, and his enemies will be shattered at the base of My footstool." Jesus Diary 723

"[Let] the greatest sinners place their trust in My mercy. They have the right before others to trust in the abyss of My mercy. My daughter, write about My mercy towards tormented souls. Souls that make an appeal to My mercy delight Me. To such souls I grant even more graces than they ask. I cannot punish even the greatest sinner if he makes an appeal to My compassion, but on the contrary, I justify him in My unfathomable and inscrutable mercy." Jesus Diary 1146

"I want to grant a complete pardon to the souls that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion on the Feast of My mercy. " Jesus Diary 1109

"I desire trust from My creatures. Encourage souls to place great trust in My fathomless mercy. Let the weak, sinful soul have no fear to approach Me, for even if it had more sins than there are grains of sand in the world, all would be drowned in the immeasurable depths of My mercy." Jesus Diary 1059

" I demand the worship of My mercy through the solemn celebration of the Feast and through the veneration of the image which is painted. By means of this image I shall grant many graces to souls. It is to be a reminder of the demands of My mercy, because even the strongest faith is of no avail without works." Jesus Diary 742

"Tell [all people], My daughter, that I am Love and Mercy itself. When a soul approaches Me with trust, I fill it with such an abundance of graces that it cannot contain them within itself, but radiates them to other souls." Jesus Diary 1074

"Souls who spread the honor of My mercy I shield through their entire lives as a tender mother her infant, and at the hour of death I will not be a Judge for them, but the Merciful Savior. At that last hour, a soul has nothing with which to defend itself except My mercy. Happy is the soul that during its lifetime immersed itself in the Fountain of Mercy, because justice will have no hold on it. Jesus" Diary 1075

The Divine Mercy Novena is said on the 9 days leading up to the Feast Day. We have already completed the Novena for this year but I urge you to go to PrayMoreNovenas.com and sign up to receive all novenas so that you are ready for next year! The Novena begins on Good Friday and ends on the Saturday following Easter Sunday.

The Image and Jesus, I trust in You:
"In the evening, when I was in my cell, I became aware of the Lord  Jesus clothed in a white garment. One hand was raised in blessing,  the other was touching the garment at the breast. From the opening of the garment at the breast there came forth two large rays, one red and the other pale. In silence I gazed intently at the Lord; my soul was overwhelmed with fear, but also with great joy. After a while Jesus said to me, 'paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the inscription: Jesus, I trust in You." Faustina

Some time later, Our Lord again spoke to her:

"The pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous; the red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of souls. These  two rays issued forth from the depths of My most tender Mercy at
that time when My agonizing Heart was opened by a lance on the Cross....Fortunate is the one who will dwell in their shelter, for the just hand of God shall not lay hold of him."
Jesus.

As it has been stated above, the image is to be venerated while praying the Chaplet, saying the Novena, and on the Feast Day. Jesus, I trust in You, is an affirmation that should be prayed often. It can also be said at the hour of mercy, 3:00 P.M., in lieu of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy with the intention that the Chaplet will be said at another time during the day.

I urge you to read the Diary of St. Faustina and immerse yourself in the mercy of Jesus by saying the daily prayers, the Novena and attending the celebration of the Feast Day at your parish. I also encourage you to not only pray for others to be brought to Him but to also spread the message of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Surely, our world needs more prayers and conversions of heart to our Glorious Lord and Savior.

Have a beautiful Feast Day of Divine Mercy and a blessed Easter season.

Peace and Love,
Mare

Our Lady of Sorrows ~ Feast Day is September 15th

"When I tell you this, I am not addressing myself strictly to you, child, but I am making this appeal to the world," the Virgin told the seer Marie-Claire Mukangango – who was later killed in the war. She said the Virgin described the world as in revolt against God, the world “is on the edge of catastrophe.”

This is a quote from Our Blessed Mother to Marie-Claire Mukangango, who was one of the seers of Kibeho in the 1980's. If you have never heard the events of those apparitions, here is a good link to learn more and to read the messages. http://www.kibeho.org/en/history.php. In brief, Our Lady appeared to 3 young women, Alphonsine Mumureke, Marie-Claire, and Nathalie Mukamazimpaka in Kibeho, Rwanda, beginning in 1981. They are the 3 recognized by the Catholic Church, though many more reported seeing her, as well as a young man. This is the official determination by the church: https://www.ewtn.com/library/MARY/OLKIBEHO.HTM.  Over the course of 8 years she appeared to them numerous times and told them the importance of saying the rosary daily, going to mass often but especially every Sunday, doing penance, sacrifice and fasting and reciting the rosary of the seven sorrows. Our Mother even taught one of the seers, Marie-Claire, how to say it so that she could teach others. She told us to love and care for one another and to obey God and his commands. She also said that ANYONE can recite the rosary and the chaplet of the sorrows. You can be any religion and do so.

“ The world hastens to its ruin, it will fall into the abyss… The world is rebellious against God, it commits too many sins, it has neither love nor peace. If you do not repent and do not convert your hearts, you will fall into the abyss."

"Do not forget that God is more powerful than all of the evil in the world....The world is on the edge of catastrophe. Cleanse your hearts through prayer. The only way is through God. If you do not take refuge in God, where will you hide when the fire has spread everywhere?"

This is a synopsis of her messages:
  1. am the Mother of the Word.
  2. Repent without delay.
  3. Repent when it is still time.
  4. Repent so that you may not fall in a gulf.
  5. Mortify yourselves in order to help Jesus to save the world.
  6. Accept your sufferings with faith and joy.
  7. Nobody will enter into heaven without endure sufferings.
  8. The child of Mary accepts its sufferings.
  9. Pray always without hypocrisy.
  10. Pray always for the Church.
  11. Pray without becoming weary.
  12. Pray always for the world.
  13. Meditate on the Rosary.
  14. Meditate on the Rosary of sorrows of the Virgin Mary.
  15. Repent, Repent, Repent.
  16. Stand strong in your faith.
  17. Come back to God.
  18. Faith and doubt will come in maliciously.
  19. I have opened and you did not come in.
  20. What are you waiting for? What are you waiting for? What are you waiting for?
With all of the events going on today in the world, the natural devastations, the wars, the hatred and lack of God in thoughts, words and actions, it seems prudent that we listen to the messages of Our Mother and heed her message. She recommended that the Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows be said on Tuesdays, Fridays and on her feast day, which is the 15th of September. Since tomorrow is her feast day, I think it is a great time to start this devotion, which does have graces attached to it, I might add. The graces are:
  1. I will grant peace to their families.
  2. They will be enlightened about the divine mysteries.
  3. I will console them in their pains and I will accompany
    them in their work.
  4. I will give them as much as they ask for as long as it does not oppose the adorable will of my divine Son or the sanctification of their souls.
  5. I will defend them in their spiritual battles with the infernal enemy and I will protect them at every instant of their lives.
  6. I will visibly help them at the moment of their death; they will see the face of their Mother.
  7. I have obtained (this grace) from my divine Son, that those who propagate this devotion to my tears and dolors, will be taken directly from this earthly life to eternal happiness since all their sins will be forgiven and my Son and I will be their eternal consolation and joy.
You say the rosary of the seven sorrows as follows:

Beginning

When starting the Rosary of Sorrows, after the sign of the cross, we do not recite the "Creed," but immediately say the following prayer:

Introductory prayer
My God, I offer you this Rosary in honor of the seven principal Sorrows of Mary, for your greatest glory, for my conversion and that of all people through your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, our salvation and our unique way to come to you, in union with the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen!

Act of contrition
My God, I regret so much to have offended you because you are infinitely good, infinitely kind and you dislike sin. I make a firm resolution, with the help of your holy grace, never to offend you and to do penance. In this state of contrition, I want to live and die. Amen!

Then recite the first sorrow (see list following this paragraph). Say the Our Father and then 7 Hail Mary's. Then say, Pray for us, Virgin most sorrowful, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Proceed with the next sorrow.
  1. The Prophecy of Simeon (Luke 2:34–35)
  2. The Flight into Egypt (Matthew 2:13)
  3. The Loss of the Child Jesus in the Temple of Jerusalem (Luke 2:43–45)
  4. The Meeting of Mary and Jesus on his Way to Calvary (traditional)
  5. Standing at the Foot of the Cross (John 19:25)
  6. Jesus Being Taken Down from the Cross (Matthew 27:57–59)
  7. The Burial of Jesus (John 19:40–42)
Closing Prayer:
Let us pray.
GRANT, we beseech Thee, O LORD JESUS CHRIST, that the most blessed Virgin Mary, thy Mother, may intercede for us before the throne of thy mercy, now and at the hour of our death, whose most holy soul was transfixed with the sword of sorrow in the hour of thine own Passion. Through Thee, JESUS CHRIST, SAVIOR of the world, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen.
The Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows is a beautiful tradition in the Church and allows a soul to walk the via matris, following Mary who kept all of these sorrows in her heart.

If we all pray, pray, pray as Mother Mary requests, and turn our lives to God, perhaps we can attain peace on earth and good will toward men. Have a peaceful week.

Where is God in my Loneliness?

It's amazing to see how God works through my life; how people come and go in a day, a season or are with me for a lifetime. If I look back over my life yes, I have had some major difficulties and some minor ones just like everyone else I know. But somehow, it seems, there was always someone in my life that helped me to get through it. Most of the time we drifted away over time, that's a normal part of life too, but by then either a situation was resolved or the coping part had been allayed to some degree. It was time for both of us to move on.

Just as I've always had people in the right place at the right time, I'm very often compelled to step into someone's life. I have to smile when I think about it because I know it isn't just me. I know that it is God telling me to do it and working through me.

Even so, even with the right people in your life, your family and your loved ones, life can be lonely. You can feel utterly and completely abandoned and you feel like the weight of the world is crushing you. A few people, notable ones at that, have felt that isolation, Dorothy Day and Mother Teresa of Calcutta spring to mind. Both of them were so moved by it, they wrote books about it.

Though they had very different upbringings and styles of life, they ultimately led lives in servitude over the course of their lifetimes (Dorothy Day lived from 1897 to 1980. Mother Teresa from 1910 to 1997). They both chose to work with the poorest of the poor. They both accomplished so much in their lives of doing for others and changing lives. Even at their darkest moments, I know that they got up out of bed every day, pushed their feelings of solitude aside, and marched into their day with a spring in their step and a legion of angels surrounding them. Now I'm not only talking about their guardian angels, I'm talking about the humans that worked closely with them ~ Peter Maurin that worked with Ms. Day and of course the Sisters of the Missionaries of Charity order that worked with Mother Teresa. God called them ALL to do his work. God calls all of US to do his work.

Here's my take on isolation. Just as God brings people into our lives, and brings us into theirs, I think he brings isolation into our lives to bring us closer to Him. It is at our lowest point that we reach out to Him. It is when the noise around us disappears and we feel alone that we are more prone to hear Him. We are the ones that push Him away. We are the ones that don't seem to ever have time to say thank you for all of our blessings. We are the ones that only pay attention to Him when everything else falls apart. But here's the thing, He is WITH US ALWAYS. He is in us and we are in Him. We are all one body.

Have you ever heard of the silver cord? The first time I ever heard about it was when my Mom was on her deathbed. She told me that she could see a silver cord that connected me to her, and to every living thing on the earth and that the cord connected us all to God. Ramblings of a dying woman? I thought so too until I did some research on it and found that it is mentioned in the Bible. The cord is broken once any living creature leaves the earth. I'm sure you are thinking at this point, what in God's name does this woman's ramblings have to do with isolation? Well here's your answer ~ You are NEVER alone. God is with you every step of the way. Jesus Christ is a part of you, and you are a part of Him. Loneliness and isolation is a call from God to listen to His word and to become more contemplative in your life. Now I'm not telling you to become a hermit, very few are called to that life. Take advantage of your down time. If you are feeling abandoned reach out to God. Open your hearts and minds and listen to what he has to say. Recite the Our Father, the Rosary, the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy. Ask St. Michael to protect you and to chase away your demons (self-doubt, hatred, sorrow and even addictions). Visit a perpetual adoration chapel in your area. Open your Bible. I can't even begin to tell you how many life lessons are in there. The book of Sirach is filled with gems.

God is always with you. He is a part of you.  You just aren't listening to Him. It's a one-way conversation when it should be a two-way conversation. They didn't realize it at the time but both Dorothy and Mother did hear Him. It was at their times of loneliness that they reached out to Him and He answered them by giving them the strength to persevere in their times of despair. Their response was obvious by their unending devotion to Him and His work through them. Though they may have had difficulty seeing it, it is pretty obvious to me that they both had a oneness with God and a dialogue.

May we all have a little less noise around us and more isolation so that we can all grow in spirit and in Oneness with God.

Peace & Love,

Mare

P.S. This post addresses occasional feelings of loneliness and not episodes of clinical depression and other forms of mental illness. Please seek medical assistance for ongoing symptoms.

Blessings

I am blessed beyond belief. I was thinking just that on the 4th of July and it actually occurred to me not once, but twice on that day. I first thought of it while I was sitting at my brother and sister-in-law's house. It was a small group, just them, my Aunt and me but it was a gorgeous day and we were sitting outside on their beautiful, breezy, deck with plates full of food and our refreshing cucumber water. I always joke with my sister-in-law that their yard is like sitting in Eden. While my yard has patches of beauty here and there, their grass is perfectly manicured and the yard is filled with flora and fauna everywhere. Even the birds and butterflies seem happier in their yard then in mine. Amidst the beauty of the day and our surroundings, though, our banter turned to the loss of a beloved Uncle, who will be laid to rest this Saturday. My Aunt, who buried her own husband a few years back, remarked on how even though we have had tremendous loss, horrible illnesses and some incredibly difficult things happen, all in all, we have had a good life. She is right. Many families that experience much less things then we have are broken apart and alienated. Our core family is as thick as thieves. Help and love is just a phone call, or short walk, away. Having a family that loves you unconditionally like that, is an incredible blessing.

The other time it occurred to me was later in the evening when the (cherry) bombs were bursting in air and the sounds of M-80's shook my house as they exploded in the neighborhood. I had "A Capitol Fourth" on the television and watched the gathered crowd have a blast of a time and then watched as the fireworks did the same. I then turned on the Macy*s fireworks, that were on (I think) channel 4, which were also amazing. The fireworks reminded me of the innocent people in France, last year, that were watching their own fireworks in celebration of Bastille Day in Nice. I thought of it as a large boom rattled my windows, coincidentally, thus making its mark in my psyche even more.  I had nothing to worry about. I knew the sounds around me were benign mini-celebrations of the independence of our country and I turned my attention, once again, to the sea of military faces present at the Macy*s display. At the end of it all, I silently thanked God. It was a blessing that millions of people had a beautiful and peaceful celebration and were safe. It is because of every branch of our incredible military, the NYPD, the MPDC and all of the other local police departments, that we could gather together and then return safe and sound to our homes that night. I am blessed because I live in THE greatest country in the world. I am protected by THE greatest police departments in the world and I am safe because of THE greatest military in the world. So, my friends, are you.

May God bless all of our armed forces and may He bless the United States of America.

Have a peaceful week,

Mare

Wait......... What? We Are a Non-Profit?

That's right, GloryGloryGifts.com is not lining our pockets with riches and wealth. It's a fact, Jack. We have not made a profit since our inception in 2008. Why in God's name would we continue to do this, you may ask? Our answer? Because it is IN God's name that we do this.

GloryGloryGifts.com has two main goals. The first, is to promote prayer, particularly the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy and the Rosary. The second, is to help our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land, that have been affected by the downturn in tourism. Our primary goal is to promote prayer.  The secondary goal is an avenue we use to provide prayer aids and items that foster a connection to Christ through articles made in places where he was born and resurrected. We help our brothers and sisters by buying their handmade, beautiful, items.

We promote prayer by using this blog, Facebook, Pinterest, ads, and through the "Prayer Page" on the website. We also include prayer cards in every order that we fulfill. The prayer cards are free and not included in a purchase price of an item, including rosary beads. It is our desire that people not only use our rosary beads, but that they say the prayers as they are intended to be said. We also initiate prayer chains through our social media sites and trust me if we say we are going to keep you in our prayers we will do exactly that.

So, where do our profits go as we are a retailer with e-commerce sites? Simply put they go into our promotion of prayers both in print and on social media and ads. But they also go into the expansion of the business through inventory, shipping supplies, taxes, fees, printing, and other costs of items like ink, paper and our signature purple organza pouches. We do pay a NYS sales tax and are registered with them. Our Certificate of Authority number is NY-9917525 33.  We are not an S-Corporation, tax exempt, non-profit but we do file with NYC as a non-corporate entity. The principals of GloryGloryGifts.com do not take a salary from the business, but we do pay part timers that come in to help us during peak seasons.

It's just a rounded guesstimate, but since we began this venture (online in 2010), we have introduced prayers to 135,216 people that have visited the prayer page on the website. Close to 7,000 have received our prayer cards (since 2013). 21,777 visited our blog (as of today), with a whopping majority learning about the Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows, the Rosary, Chaplet of the Divine Mercy and Divine Mercy Sunday. Through Facebook, Pinterest and on-line ads we have reached another 5,000 with various prayers. If you think that one person cannot make a difference in the world, think again. We are basically a two-man operation and look at how many lives we have touched. It is staggering and sobering to calculate the figures, but we give all the glory to God. It is He that stands by us every day and gives us strength and faith to do His will in the job he gave to us.

Even so, we still provide you with the very best in customer care. We believe in one-on-one customer interaction and support and we love to meet you when you come to pick products up from us. We are a Christian family and believe in treating both those we meet in person and in cyber space with the dignity and respect that Christ expects from us. After all, it is Jesus that put us on this path (well, He put Mare on this path and gave her Tom as a sidekick). We have quality products, affordable prices, fast shipping and service with a personal touch, even if you order online.

We do appreciate and love our customers and fans and invite you to join our Facebook and Pinterest communities. The links are above. Check out our current customer feedback on eBay at: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=gloryglorygifts&ftab=AllFeedback. You can also see reviews on our local business finder at: http://businessfinder.silive.com/11554164/GLORYGLORYGIFTSCOM-Staten-Island-NY.

We look forward to working with and maybe meeting you in this new year, as we continue to grow in Christ.

Peace,
Mare

Memorial Day 2016

On this Memorial Day let us remember our fallen comrades and Americans that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. The day isn't about BBQ's and pool parties. It is a national day of remembrance for our deceased Veterans.

One of the fallen is also one of our own Staten Islanders, who is up for sainthood in the Catholic Church. His name is Fr. Vincent Capodanno. Fr Vincent was killed in Vietnam while running to give last rites to people in his company. He is a fascinating guy to learn about so I suggest you visit the website dedicated to him at: http://www.vincentcapodanno.org/about_fr_capodanno/biography/.

~ All Gave Some, Some Gave All ~

Say a prayer for our Veterans, deceased and living and have a blessed day.
