Stop The World I Want to Get Off

This week I can honestly say that my emotions have run the gamut. Even though I am sitting, safe and sound, in the middle of America my head is spinning from what is going on in the Middle East and Africa. You have ISIS doing a cleanse of Christians in Iraq. Boko Haram is doing the same in Nigeria. The Israelis and Palestinians are at each other's throats. There is social unrest in Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, North Korea and a war with Russia and Ukraine.

Ebola is killing people. The bubonic plague has reared it's ugly head (in Colorado) in the U.S. There are severe droughts in many parts of the world, including our own Texas who hasn't seen rain in years. Economies are not what they used to be in many countries. People are starving and dying every day from deprivation from the simple things in life, like clean water, food and housing, which are not so simple in their corner of the world. We have natural disasters - too many to count.

Right here in the good old U.S. of A. we have our own forms of discrimination. A group called "Freedom from Religion" has created a witch hunt against Christian organizations and Catholics, in particular, for supposedly telling congregations whom to vote for. The I.R.S. is now involved (as if they are not involved in our lives enough already). I never heard of such rubbish before in my life. They have even gone so far as to go after a small business owner, Mary's Gourmet Diner, for giving a 15% discount to those that bow their heads and give thanks for the meal. What is wrong with bowing your head and thanking God, or whichever name you call Him, for food on your table? If you don't believe in God, as the Freedom from Religion group do not (Captain obvious strikes again), then bow your head and thank the kitchen staff for making your dinner or Mary for the discount you are about to receive because you are bowing your head. The saddest thing is that the government is LISTENING and ACTING on their behalf. WHERE ARE EVERYONE ELSE'S RIGHTS??? If I was Mary Haglund, the owner of Mary's Gourmet Diner, I would still be offering that discount. Mary is way, way too nice and has been cow-towed by these bullies. Yeah, I said it, the Freedom from Religion group are a bunch of intolerant bullies. They didn't even know about poor Mary until her restaurant was in the news last week but they flocked to this like a spider does to anything that gets caught in its web.

My good friend told me that one day, while she was commuting a week ago, she noticed a woman with a hidden rosary in her pocketbook. She was praying on them. My friend asked her why don't you just pull them out and pray on them. She answered, "I don't want to offend anyone."

The kicker for my week was the announcement that a Black Mass, aka Mass of Satan, is being held in a civic center in the heart of Oklahoma City. Seriously? Does this same civic center rent it's space to people that want to burn the Koran or the Torah? Are gangs allowed to rent space to recruit new members? A Black Mass is a mockery of a Catholic Mass. Since when did mockery of ANY religion become acceptable in America?

Yes, my head is spinning, and I am so sad at what is happening in some parts of the world and so angry at what is happening here. If this world ever needed prayer more - it is now. Thank God for what you have. Pray for the world and those being persecuted. Pray for the dead. Bow your head in a restaurant to give thanks for your food. Pray while you are commuting on public transportation or in your own car. Sit in a park or a mall and pray.  Pray every day, several times a day; the world needs your prayers. Don't be ashamed of who you are and who you believe in. Shine that little light of yours and show your love for  Christ and His teachings and your way of life. It is a very sad world we live in and will be an even sadder one when we are no longer able to pray in public. Don't think it will never happen because it already is; just ask Mary Haglund and those being persecuted around the world. GloryGloryGifts.com is a proud sponsor of prayer, highly encourage it and participate in it. We hope that you do as well.

Peace,
Mare
